STARGET was born from a simple idea: what if you could get a real sense of a place before deciding to visit?
We believe discovering a city should be more than searching for names, addresses and ratings. It should be about finding places that spark curiosity, discovering what makes them special and connecting with the people and communities that give them life.

Our beginning
STARGET began its development journey in Porto in 2023.
We went into the streets, met local business owners and explored the places that shape the city's everyday life.
During our initial field validation, we connected with 63 businesses, developing and testing an approach that combines local knowledge, audiovisual content and digital discovery.
This experience helped shape the STARGET concept: original videos that allow people to experience something of a place before they go.
Built through experience
STARGET has evolved through fieldwork, content creation, research and real-world testing.
In the summer of 2025, the app recorded more than 7,000 downloads, marking an important milestone in its development journey.
STARGET is incubated at Startup Porto — UTP | Universidade Técnica do Porto, continuing to explore opportunities for innovation, collaboration and further development.

We want to make urban discovery more human, more engaging and more connected to the places that make each city unique.
By bringing together local businesses, points of interest and authentic experiences, STARGET helps people explore their surroundings while creating opportunities for greater visibility across local communities.
We see technology as a way to connect people with real places, not as a replacement for the experience of being there.
What comes next
Porto is our starting point.
Our ambition is to keep improving the STARGET experience, developing new possibilities for users, businesses and communities, and exploring opportunities to bring this approach to other territories.
